CEO & Founder

Cheston McGuire is a communications strategist and storyteller who has dedicated his career to helping mission-driven organizations amplify their impact. As the CEO and Founder of Level Up PR, Cheston brings a unique blend of creative vision, tactical expertise, and leadership to elevate brands and drive measurable results. With a focus on social impact, workforce development, and organized labor, he has established Level Up PR as a go-to partner for organizations looking to enhance their visibility, engage top-tier media, and achieve lasting change.

Cheston’s career is marked by a series of impactful roles, including Head of Communications at the EdTech unicorn Multiverse, Director of Media & Public Affairs at the social enterprise Opportunity@Work, Press Secretary at the largest federal employee union, American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), and Vice President of Media Relations at the investment management firm Farr, Miller & Washington.

Throughout his career, Cheston has worked to engage top-tier media, securing placements and coverage of his organizations in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Economist, NPR, Fortune, Barron’s, Bloomberg, Fast Company, Forbes, PBS NewsHour, NBC’s Today Show, and CNBC. Through his work building relationships with members of the media and executive thought leadership support, Cheston has grown media coverage at organizations on an annual basis – with a remarkable 650% increase during his time at Opportunity@Work.

By building integrated strategic communication campaigns that utilize multi-channel messaging, as well as working across policy, fundraising, partnerships, legislative, and legal teams, Cheston has been able to coordinate nationwide campaigns – including the “Tear the Paper Ceiling” PSA campaign with the Ad Council – that align with organizational objectives and make a tangible impact.
